How to Treat Graves’ Disease

📈Graves' disease is the most common cause of hyperthyroidism in the US and is more prevalent in women than men, as with most autoimmune disorders.

Graves' disease is an autoimmune condition where antibodies bind to thyroid receptor sites, causing the thyroid to produce an excess of hormones (an overactivity called hyperthyroidism).

The antibodies that trigger Graves' disease are usually Thyrotropin Receptor Antibodies (TRAb), although Thyroid-Stimulating Immunoglobulin (TSI) can also be a potential trigger.

There are different forms of testing for Graves' Disease such as blood tests and antibody tests, along with various forms of treatment.
